Club Brugge has qualified for the direct elimination matches of the Champions League, after a 0-0 draw against Atletico Madrid. This is the first time in history that the Belgian team has passed the group stage of the prestigious competition, as the previous 10 attempts have been unsuccessful.
The 18-time Belgian champions are thus undefeated in Group B, as they lead with 10 points after 4 matches. Brugge recorded impressive wins over Porto, Bayer Leverkusen and Atletico Madrid before holding the latter to a draw in the transfer window. Diego Simeone's men dominated the match, with 21 shots on goal, compared to 5 of the friends. However, it all ended in a draw, and that means Atletico, Porto and Bayer Leverkusen are already in a tight race to secure the last qualification ticket.
Napoli, on the other hand, continues to surprise with its fantastic form, both in the championship and in Europe. The Italians defeated Ajax again, this time with the result 4-2. This means that the Neapolitans have already secured their spot in the direct elimination phase.
The hosts quickly took the lead in the 4th minute of the meeting with Lozano. The goal was a clear picture of how the game was going to go, as Napoli found their second just 12 minutes later with Giacomo Raspadori sending the ball into the net with a beautiful left-footed strike.
Ajax managed to score with Klaasen in the 49th minute, but the Dutch were never able to think about overturning the result. Napoli scored the third goal in the 62nd minute of the challenge, through Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who was quite accurate from the penalty spot.
The friends also scored from the penalty spot in the 83rd minute, but Osimhen scored one more time for the Italians at the end of the match, sealing the final figures 4-1.
