Arsenal are looking to sign Brighton star Kaoru Mitoma at the end of this season. The latter has been fantastic for Brighton this season and is considered one of the best dribblers in the Premier League. Arsenal, meanwhile, need more depth in the pitch. Coach Arteta has not been able to create rotation in attack, as Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli have been regularly activated in all competitions, despite the busy schedule. Mitoma's arrival in the team would offer more flexibility to the Londoners in attack.
However, it will not be easy for Arsenal to bring the Japanese to the Emirates. The Londoners are facing stiff competition from Manchester United, who are also chasing Mitoma. The "Red Devils" are looking for a winger who offers them more security and confidence. Antony and Sancho have not convinced with their performances this season, and coach Ten Hag needs more quality in the attacking department.
Brighton, however, do not want to lose one of their best players, and this could lead to a financial battle between Arsenal and Manchester United for Mitoma's card. Meanwhile, Arsenal have a plan B ready if they fail to secure Mitoma's signature. The London club is interested in another Japanese with the same profile. It is about Takefusa Kubo of Real Sociedad.
Kubo has a release clause of 60 million euros and Arsenal leaders are ready to make an offer in the summer. The forward has impressed with his performances in La Liga and manager Arteta sees him as valuable to his attacking plans in the new season. Even if Arsenal do not secure Kubo's services, the latter is expected to leave Sociedad soon.
