Casemiro has stated that his move to Manchester United is not motivated by money. In a farewell ceremony with a lot of emotions, the Brazilian declared that he will join the biggest club in the world, after 9 successful years with Real Madrid. United will pay Real Madrid 70 million pounds for the midfielder's card, while Casemiro will sign for 4 years with the "Red Devils". The player said at the press conference:
"If it was for money, I would have left 4 or 5 years ago. People who think this are wrong, they don't know me at all. The club has always treated me very well. This is my decision, my way.”
Casemiro joined Real Madrid from Sao Paulo in 2013, and helped the team win 5 times the Champions League, and 3 times La Liga. Apart from these, he also won the Copa del Rey during his adventure in Spain. The Brazilian added:
"After the Champions League final I spoke to my agent, as I had a feeling that my cycle here had come to an end. It was the hardest decision of my life, but I'm excited for what lies ahead.
I want to face new challenges, get to know another language, another country and another culture. I'm joining the biggest club in the world, which can compete with the greatness of Real Madrid, even if it doesn't seem like it now."

Casemiro also commented on Cristiano Ronaldo's situation at United. The Brazilian commented:
"I have not spoken to Cristiano, I hope he stays at the club as he is one of the best players of all time.
Everything I did here (in Madrid), I want to do there. I want to win the championship in England..."
