Real Madrid chiefs are believed to have made their first official bid for talented English midfielder Jude Bellingham. Madrid are ready to offer a whopping £123million for the Dortmund player as they look to reshape their midfield, considering Luka Modric and Toni Kroos are at the end of their careers.
According to Spanish media, Real Madrid's offer for Bellingham consists of 88 million euros to be offered from the beginning, and the rest eventually. The England midfielder was thought to have decided to join Real Madrid last summer, but is now reconsidering offers from Premier League clubs.
Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City have been repeatedly linked with Bellingham's name. Meanwhile, Newcastle are also thought to have joined the race for England international talent. Initially, it was thought that the leaders of Real Madrid had given up on Bellingham, due to the strong financial competition from Premier League clubs. However, in Madrid there is still the belief that Bellingham can land at the Bernabeu at the start of the next season.
The player is going through a bit of a tough time in the last few weeks, as he hasn't registered any goals or assists for 1 month. Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl commented on the situation saying there is nothing to worry about. Kehl said:
“Maybe he's missing some scoring opportunities that he would have converted into goals in the first half of the season... He works hard, he looks and looks for more. There are times when this is normal. It has to be accepted that a player cannot always play at his highest level."
We recall that Bellingham has been nursing a minor left knee injury for the past few weeks. This is also the reason why the player has been wearing a bandage in recent challenges.
