Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has dismissed reports last week that Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo could join the Spanish club. The Portuguese has made clear his desire to leave the "Red Devils", as he seeks to play for a team in the Champions League.
But contrary to what has been reported so far, Atletico Madrid will not be one of them. This was guaranteed by the president of Madrid, Enrique Cerezo, who declared for El Partidazo de COPE radio:
"I don't know who invented the story about Cristiano Ronaldo and Atletico Madrid. Obviously that's not true. Practically, it is impossible for him (Ronaldo) to play for Atletico Madrid."
Among the other teams that were linked with the Portuguese star was Chelsea. However, Thomas Tuchel's team stopped their interest some time ago. Bayern Munich was also mentioned as one of Ronaldo's possible destinations, especially after the departure of Lewandowski from the Bavarians. However, German sporting officials have seen CR7's profile as unsuitable for Bayern's playing module.
Until now, there has been no concrete offer for Cristiano Ronaldo's services from European clubs. The media in England reported that the striker turned down a hefty offer of 210 million pounds from Saudi Arabia, as he is not interested in this destination at this point in his career.
The Portuguese has returned to United's training facilities, after a long absence due to holidays and some other personal reasons. It is learned that CR7 has repeated the same request to the club leaders, who are trying to find alternatives to avoid losing one of their most valuable players.
