Liverpool have reached an agreement with Benfica striker Darwin Nunez regarding the player's personal requirements. A few days ago it was made public by the Portuguese media that "The Reds" were in talks with the Portuguese club, regarding Nunez's card.
Benfica is learned to be asking for around 80 million euros for the player's services, plus 20 million euros in bonuses and further profits. Klopp is a big fan of the Uruguayan, and that is why Liverpool has advanced in the negotiations, and is ready to break the personal financial record for player transfers.
Another reason why "The Reds" are trying hard to sign Nunez as soon as possible is the interest of Manchester United for the striker. The player's agent, Jorge Mendes, will meet with the leaders of the "Red Devils", as the latter are trying to thwart Liverpool's plans by luring Nunez towards a transfer to Old Trafford.
Nunez has attracted the attention of many clubs this year, after a season where he scored a full 34 goals with Benfica. Portuguese football expert, Pedro Sepulveda, said that Manchester United, but also Newcastle are put in pursuit of the player. Nevertheless, Liverpool remains the strong favorite to sign with Nunez. This is not only because the opposing teams will not play in the Champions League next season, but also because of coach Klopp. Germany is one of the best technicians in the world for managing talent and resources within the team, and a collaboration between Nunez and Jurgen could prove to be quite successful for the continuation of the player's career.
Arsenal have also shown interest in the player at one point, but now it seems that the "gunners" have decided to follow other tracks to reinforce their attack.
