Barcelona executives already have a back-up plan if they fail to bring Robert Lewandowski to the Camp Nou this summer. The Catalans have identified Romelu Lukaku and Sadio Mane as two other suitable alternatives for the team's objectives.
Lewandowski scored 50 goals in 46 games for Bayern Munich during the season he left behind. The Pole has scored a total of 344 goals in 375 appearances during his 8 years with the German champions. But despite the extraordinary records, Lewandowski confirmed that he will leave Bayern at the end of the season, and is looking for the next adventure.
Lukaku on the other hand is also quite inclined to leave his current club. The striker spent a rather difficult season in the Premier League, scoring just 8 goals after a sensational transfer to England. The Belgian would prefer a return to Inter in Serie A, but the Italians have so far not shown any readiness to make this move possible. Barcelona remains a pretty interesting option if that does not happen.
Mane on the other hand has in principle accepted an agreement with Bayern Munich, but it remains to be seen whether an agreement will be reached between the parties. Former famous Premier League striker Chris Sutton is of the idea that Liverpool should not let a talent like Mane leave. Sutton gave his opinion to BBC Radio 5:
"If you are in Liverpool positions you should not sell him (Mane) for any kind of figure… I am not saying he is irreplaceable, as Klopp's recruitment has been extraordinary. "But the level of consistency of Liverpool is because of that attacking line. I can not think of another player who has integrated so quickly and done what Mane has accomplished."
