Arsenal seem to have no intention of giving up easily when it comes to Moises Caicedo. The Londoners are still in pursuit of the Brighton midfielder, despite their first bid of £60m for the Ecuadorian being rejected by the Swans. The leaders of the London club have made a second offer consisting of 70 million pounds, more precisely 60 million plus 10 million pounds in add-ons.
However, Brighton are expected to reject the offer again, as the club are thought to want £80m for Caicedo. The latter did not train with the team at the weekend, trying to delay a possible move to Arsenal or Chelsea. In a post on social networks, Caicedo expressed his gratitude for the opportunities that Brighton have given him, but asked for the understanding of the fans and the club for the fact that he wants to take the next step.
The midfielder is looking for a transfer within this window, as he fears the possibility that Chelsea and Arsenal will no longer be interested in him at the end of the season. This is because the 2 London clubs are thought to enter into a competition for the transfer of Declan Rice of West Ham, thus passing Caicedo to the background.
Arsenal are looking to sign Caicedo due to coach Mikel Arteta's need for alternatives in midfield. Thomas Partey picked up an injury in the challenge against Manchester City, and despite the fact that the injury does not seem serious, the Spanish technician knows very well that the season is long and quite competitive.
Moises Caicedo seems the perfect option for the "gunners", and in the event that Chelsea do not come with a better offer, Brighton may be obliged to fulfill the player's desire, giving the green light to the transfer to the Emirates.
