Manchester United will make an official offer for Neymar's card, in case Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al Thani will buy the shares of the prestigious club. The club's current owners, the Glazer family, have long been considering selling their majority stake in United. In the race for the ownership of the club are the English billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe, as well as the Sheikh of Qatar, Al Thani.
Both Ratcliffe and the Qatari sheikh are aiming to buy 100% of United's shares, but neither side has so far agreed to offer the £6bn figure sought by the Glazers. Ratcliffe is believed to be considering a partial share buyout, while the Qatari sheikh insists on taking full ownership of United.
If Jassim bin Hamad al Thani succeeds in realizing his goal, Neymar will be the main target in the summer market. The Brazilian has scored 18 goals in 29 games this season with PSG, but has constantly suffered from injuries. This is one of the reasons why the French club can give up on him. Also, the striker's stratospheric salary of 616 pounds per week is quite a financial burden for the Parisians.
Moreover, the leaders of PSG are working on a plan to revive the club, after failing for the tenth time in a row in the Champions League. The French are already looking to build a team based on young talent, giving more weight and attention to the youth academy.
Neymar meanwhile has an active contract with the club until 2025, with the option to renew for another 2 years. However, this is not expected to be a problem for Manchester United, if the English seek the services of the Brazilian.
