Barcelona beat Cadiz by a score of 4-0, in a match that was interrupted in the 50th minute due to a fan's medical emergency. The Catalans were leading the match 2-0 before the incident was recorded. Cadiz goalkeeper Jeremias Ledesma left his goal to give a first aid kit to fans as the players were escorted off the pitch.
The coach of Barcelona, Xavi, said that it was everyone's joint decision to stop the game. The Spaniard stated:
"We all agreed to stop. These things go beyond football, we are talking about a human life here. Fortunately, they managed to save him."
After the game resumed, Barcelona scored 2 more goals, thus sealing a clean victory. The Catalans' first goal was scored by Frenkie de Jong, while Robert Lewandowski scored the second just a few minutes after coming on as a substitute. The win means Xavi's side currently lead La Liga by 13 points. The Catalans have scored 15 goals so far in the league, and conceded just 1. Progress in the defensive department is more evident, as coach Xavi is slowly implementing his style of play.
