The English media have confirmed that Mauricio Pochettino's position as Chelsea manager is now in danger. The London Blues suffered another disappointing 4-2 defeat at Wolves on Sunday, and find themselves 11th in the Premier League standings overall. However, the Londoners still have a chance to secure a trophy this season as they face Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final.
However, the pressure is mounting for Pochettino. Chelsea have spent more than £1billion since the arrival of new owners, but the Blues' results have not been positive at all. The English media have also discovered that there may have been some controversy between the Argentinian coach and the club leaders regarding the market.
Armando Broja left for Fulham on loan, and despite Pochettino's desire to bring in a replacement in January, the club's board have not approved the request. At the moment the Chelsea board has not yet made a final decision, considering the club's need for stability. Since the arrival of the new owners, Chelsea have changed 5 different coaches, and the Londoners need a clear long-term plan. However, it seems that Pochettino's poor results are becoming increasingly difficult to ignore.
After the deep 4-1 defeat against Liverpool, the Argentinian coach spoke about the club's future:
"In football, the most important thing is to move forward. You should not be affected by the results and should use them to improve. We are a young team that needs this situation, we have to go through this to grow."
However, it seems Chelsea's management are already ready to move on without the Argentine coach in charge of the team.
