Romelu Lukaku has officially returned to Inter, just 1 year after leaving the Italians to join Chelsea. The Belgian striker has signed a contract in the form of a loan for 1 season only with the Zika. The Italian club will pay the London Blues 8 million euros for the player's services, as it is learned that Lukaku has accepted a salary reduction to make the move possible. Inter's financial situation made it impossible for the bomber to be offered a salary similar to that in the Premier League, or to realize the full purchase of his card.
Lukaku said he was quite happy for his return to Inter. In an interview with the club's official channel he stated:
"Inter has given me so much and I hope to perform even better than before. "When I went to England I did not leave my home here, and that shows how happy I am to be back."
The Belgian was also asked why he persuaded him to return to Milan. The player replied:
"The affection of my fans and teammates, but also the opportunity to work with the coach. I stayed in touch with him all season. "
Last year Lukaku left Inter to join Chelsea on a five-year deal with the London Blues. Injuries and performances beyond expectations to cause Lukaku to lose the starting place in Thomas Tuchel's team.
