Mauricio Pochettino has reached a verbal agreement with the leaders of Chelsea, to be the new coach of the London blues, starting from next season. The Argentine technician has been free since the end of last season, when he left Paris Saint-Germain. However, it seems that the time has come for Pochettino to return to the Premier League.
At the moment, Chelsea is managed by Frank Lampard as a temporary coach until the end of the season. Lampard took charge of the bench following Graham Potter's dismissal. Despite the consecutive defeats of the blues and very disappointing appearances in Europe, Lampard is expected to stay in his role until the end of the season.
We remind you that Chelsea has changed its coach 3 times since Todd Boehly took over the presidency of the club. The latter sacked German Thomas Tuchel, before appointing Graham Potter in charge of the team, who was also later sacked to make way for Lampard as interim manager.
Meanwhile, Pochettino has been linked with a possible return to Tottenham, but the chances of this happening are few. The Argentine spent a full 5 seasons at the helm of the club, reaching the Champions League final in 2019.
Meanwhile, Spurs have contacted Julian Nagelsmann, and it seems that the latter is optimistic about a new adventure, this time in England. Nagelsmann was initially a candidate for the role of coach at Chelsea, but according to media sources, the German gave up this opportunity. The former Bayern technician has been under the radar of Tottenham since two years ago, when the Londoners were looking for a coach after the dismissal of the Portuguese Jose Mourinho. Apparently, president Levy will try once again to convince Nagelsmann to join Tottenham.
