Manchester City is ready to open talks with Erling Haaland, for a new contract. Although the Norwegian bomber became part of the "citizens" only at the start of this season, the club leaders want to reward Haaland with their trust, after the latter's fantastic debut in the Premier League.
Currently, the player has an active contract with Manchester City until 2027. Initially, the striker's contract provided for a clause for its destruction, if European clubs were willing to pay 150 million euros for Haaland's card. However, it is believed that this clause has already been removed from the contract, when coach Pep Guardiola decided to renew for another 2 years with City, last year.
Meanwhile, on Haaland's part, sources close to the player indicate that he is happy at Manchester City, but remains open to discussing a contract with new conditions. This contract may also include a termination clause, but that remains to be seen.
We remind you that the Norwegian bomber has broken all records this season, scoring a total of 34 goals in the Premier League, in only 32 games. In total, Haaland has managed to find the net 49 times in all competitions. Manchester City are still in contention to win the Championship, the Champions League as well as the FA Cup, meaning Haaland has the chance to win the treble in spectacular fashion in his first season in England.
City have meanwhile withdrawn from the race for the services of Chelsea talent Mason Mount. The ace of the English national team is no longer on the radar of Pep Guardiola, and this means that the "citizens" also have other plans for the midfield, which are expected to be revealed in the summer market.
