Chelsea chiefs are considering swooping for Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale following injury to No.1 goalkeeper Robert Sanchez. The latter is expected to be out of action for a period of time due to a knee injury. Ramsdale, on the other hand, is expected to leave Arsenal, as he has already lost his starting position in coach Mikel Arteta's team. However, it is not yet known if the club's leaders are willing to give him up in January.
Newcastle are also monitoring Ramsdale's situation at Arsenal. However, the club currently does not possess the necessary finances to support a transfer. Despite the fact that Ramsdale is already second choice in terms of goal, his departure in January is seen as problematic for coach Arteta. In case the Spaniard Raya is injured, then Arteta will have to rely on Karl Hein, the team's third goalkeeper.
Meanwhile at Chelsea, Sanchez left the game after being injured in the challenge against Tottenham. His place was taken by Djordje Petrovi, the Serbian goalkeeper who enjoys the trust of coach Pochettino. Petrovi was exactly an acquisition of the Argentine, but the young goalkeeper does not yet have the necessary experience to finally take Sanchez's place in the middle of the season. Djordje was active with the New England Revolution in the MLS before joining Chelsea.
Meanwhile, the Blues are also monitoring Alessandro Buongiorno, Torino's talented defender. The latter has been described as one of the best defenders of this season in the Italian championship, and has attracted the attention of many European clubs. This means that Chelsea can enter a competition with Juventus, Inter or Roma for Buongiorno's card. Torino have preliminarily rejected an offer from an Italian team, as they believe they can benefit more from potential offers from the Premier League.
