Arsenal has recorded a very important victory against Aston Villa in the Premier League, winning 4-2 in the last minutes of the challenge. The match was a real test of character for Mikel Arteta's men, who were beaten 3-1 by title rivals Manchester City a few days ago.
The match started quite quickly, as Villa scored the first goal in the 5th minute, catching the friends by surprise in a quick counterattack. It was Watkins who opened the scoring streak, scoring his fourth personal goal in as many games. However, Arsenal's response was quite swift. Just 10 minutes later, Saka scored with a powerful shot near the goal, setting the game on course.
But Villa showed that the first goal was not a coincidence, as after a very nice action, the Brazilian Coutinho took the advantage of the hosts again with a clean shot inside the area. The first half ended with the numbers 2-1 in favor of Villa, but apparently this did not demotivate Arsenal at all.
Mikel Arteta's men took to the field with confidence and determination to overturn the result. The friends' efforts were eventually rewarded in the 60th minute of the challenge, when Zinchenko scored his first goal for Arsenal.
In the final minutes of the match, it seemed that everything would end in a draw, but in the 93rd minute, Jorginho's shot was deflected by Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez into his own goal, thus giving Arsenal a very important goal. As the hosts struggled to find an equaliser, Gabriel Martinelli caught Villa's defense off guard, running alone towards goal and scoring Arsenal's fourth goal.
Mikel Arteta's team thus ensured a very important victory in the race for the championship title.
