Roma coach Jose Mourinho has appeared really happy and excited, after his team won in overtime against Sassuolo. This was the Portuguese's 1000th game as coach, and the crazy celebration running to the fans was a clear indication of the importance this achievement had for "The Special One".
The victory was even more special as it came in the extra minutes of the meeting, when Stephan El Shaarawy donated 3 points to his team. After the meeting Mourinho said:
"I was running like a child. I was not 58 at the time, but 10, 12 or 14. I then apologized to Sassuolo coach Alessio Dionisi for my celebration. During the week I was lying to people telling them this was not a special match. Maybe I was trying to convince myself at the same time. But it really was, this match had a special meaning for me. "I'm sure I will remember it for the rest of my life because that was my 1000th game as a coach."
The Portuguese also added:
"I did not want to miss (the meeting) and I was very scared because I did not want to remember this moment in this way. So I was not telling the truth to others either. It was really a special feeling. "Maybe God decided I deserved not to have a negative memory of this day."
Jose Mourinho has scored a number of successes in his career as a manager, where we can mention 2 Champions League titles, 2 titles in Premier League, 3 titles in La Liga, 2 in Serie A and many others. However, after unsuccessful experiences with Tottenham and United, many people lost faith in the skills of "The Special One".
But it seems that the Portuguese is on the right track with Roma, as the Italians have won all five matches played, under Mourinho.
