Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez is "obsessed" with bringing Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah to the Camp Nou next season, while the renewal soap opera with "The Reds" is still going on at Anfield. Salah is approaching the final year of his contract, and could leave the club for a low price if he does not agree to Liverpool's terms regarding the new contract.
Many clubs are behind Salah's services, as the Egyptian has already scored 20 goals for Liverpool in the Premier League this season. "The Reds" are still fighting in all competitions and a large part of the success that Klopp's team has achieved, is a direct contribution of number 11.
Liverpool already have to make a choice, either surrender to Salah's wishes and offer the Egyptian what he wants, or sell the player's card for a reduced price in the summer. There are two scenarios that Liverpool executives should definitely avoid: Removing the zero-cost sumo wrestler and kidnapping him from a potential rival in the Premier League.
According to the prestigious El Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona has made Salah a key target, as the Egyptian is a cheaper alternative compared to Dortmund striker Erling Haaland. The Norwegian is insistently wanted by club president Joan Laporta, but the total amount of a deal would reach the figure of 300 million pounds, calculating the player's salary. This automatically excludes Barcelona from the race for Haaland card.
Following the departure of Leo Messi to Paris Saint Germain at the start of the season, Barcelona are looking for a jewel to fill the void left by the Argentine superstar, and manager Xavi hopes this could be Mohamed Salah.
