Paris Saint-Germain has officially put Neymar up for sale, and will accept offers for the Brazilian in the summer market. According to ESPN sources, the surprise renewal of Kylian Mbappe with the French champions has made the club look towards a new strategy for the future, and Neymar may not be part of these plans.
The Brazilian superstar signed a new contract with the club last year, and still has 3 more active years under the deal. But the declining physical form, the constant injuries and often times the problematic nature of the player has made the leaders of the Parisian club consider the sale of his card.
Mbappe meanwhile has signed until 2025 with the club, and PSG is entering a new era. Sports director Leonardo is expected to be replaced by Luis Campo, a quote ally of Mbappe, as the player collaborated with Campo at the time the two were part of Monaco. Luis enjoys a reputation as one of the most talented people in discovering new talent, and securing promising new players.
Meanwhile regarding Neymar, the striker himself has said that he wants to stay in Paris. The club meanwhile wants to generate funds to improve the team. Neymar's salary costs the French 35 million euros a year, a very high figure which scares even the teams interested in the player.
Sports journalist Julien Laurens has suggested that there are few clubs that are able to invest in Neymar at the moment, but Chelsea is one of them. The London Blues are interested in a class striker, to rival Liverpool, City, or even United, who already have one in their team. However, Neymar's physical problems could result in a major setback for the operation.
