Paul Pogba is one of Juventus' targets for the summer transfer window. The news was announced by the Italian CalcioMercato, who revealed that the "Old Lady" is in contact with the midfielder's agent, Mino Raiola. Pogba's contract with Manchester United expires at the end of the season and talks for a renewal with the "Red Devils" seem to have stopped.
This is one more impetus for Juventus, which has long sought a return of the Frenchman to Turin. Italian media suggest that Pogba also likes the idea of returning to Italy, but this will be a very difficult operation for Juventus.
The first reason is competition. The midfielder has long been a target for Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, who have not yet given up on him. The two European giants also have stronger financial capacity than Juventus, in case the competition for his card will be decided entirely in monetary terms.
On the other hand, in addition to the transfer cost, the player's salary is also a major problem for Juventus. Under his current contract with Unted, Pogba earns a full 15 million euros net per season. This figure is totally unaffordable for Juventus. Having said that, even if Juventus executives reach an agreement with Manchester United for the services of the Frenchman, the latter must accept a pay cut if he wants to play again in Italy.
Coach Massimiliano Allegri is a big fan of Pogba. The Italian coach has trained the midfielder for two seasons at Juventus, winning the two-time Serie A title. Having said that, Massimiliano has every right to believe that a second collaboration between the Frenchman and him would bring success to Juventus again, but everything remains to be seen.
