Former Barcelona Spanish defender Jordi Alba will join Messi and Busquets at Inter Miami in the USA. The news has been confirmed by the president of the club, Jorge Mas, who confirmed that Alba will be reunited with his former teammates at Barcelona. The defender left the Catalan giants this summer after his contract expired. Alba had an unforgettable career at Barcelona for more than 10 years, where he won several La Liga titles as well as the Champions League.
Meanwhile, Messi and Busquets have signed contracts until 2025 with the American club. The two former Barcelona players were officially introduced as part of Inter Miami in front of a crowd of 20 enthusiastic fans, for the arrival of superstars in MLS. Messi trained with his new teammates for the first time this week, and is expected to make his Inter Miami debut on Friday against Mexico City's Cruz Azul.
Meanwhile, it seems that Inter Miami does not intend to stop there with the approaches of new players. In the sports portals, the news has circulated that Luis Suarez is also inclined to play for the Americans. The president of the club, Jorge Mas, said that despite the fact that there are still no direct talks between Inter Miami and the player, the striker is welcome at the club:
"There has been a lot of talk about the possible arrival of Luis Suarez here. We have not had direct talks with Suarez or Gremio. I don't know how Suarez can leave Gremio. But if it works out, we are free to talk to Luis and bring him to Inter Miami. The opportunity is there.”
The arrival of young stars in MLS has increased the prestige of the American championship even more, as other players are more seriously considering a transfer to the growing league.
