Chelsea Londoners are ready to pay the figure of 42 million pounds, for the transfer to Stamford Bridge, of Gavi talent from Barcelona. According to reports, the English are trying to lure the 17-year-old to leave Camp Nou, and start a new adventure in the Premier League.
Chelsea president Roman Abramovich is thought to be a big fan of Barcelona talent, and sees him as the superstar of the future in football. For this reason, Abramovich wants to snatch the player from Barcelona, before he signs a new long-term contract with the club.
Gavi's current contract with the Catalans expires in the summer of 2023, and the Spaniards are keen to offer the player the opportunity to renew. Currently, the termination clause for the player is in the figures of 42 million pounds, which is very affordable for Chelsea. But very soon Barcelona can follow the same strategy as with Ansu Fatin and Pedri. The Spanish club has set a clause of 840 million euros for the latter, as a method to prevent a possible departure of them.
It is believed that defender Gerard Pique insists that Gavi and Pedri stay on the team, as the Spaniard connects their figures with Xavi and Andres Iniesta. Pedri will in all likelihood accept a new contract with the club, until 2026.
Barcelona, meanwhile, is in danger of losing another player, and it is Frenkie de Jong. Manchester City is ready to offer 75 million euros for the services of the Dutchman, and the Spanish club is keen to accept the offer. Earlier, there was talk of a possible exchange between De Jong and Sterling, but given the difficult financial situation of the Catalans, the latter are more inclined to accept a financial offer.
