Manchester United leaders have targeted Wolves defender Max Kilman. The latter has been regularly active with his team this season, and has impressed with positive performances, attracting the attention of several rival clubs in the Premier League.
Erik ten Hag needs reinforcements in the defensive department more than ever, with Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof already added to the long injury list. Varane, meanwhile, has also suffered injuries on a regular basis, and the Red Devils need more consistency in defence.
Kilman has featured 36 times for Wolves this season in all competitions. The defender scored 2 times and gave 1 assist. The player has had a very important role in coach Gary O'Neil's team, as Wolves are still in the race to secure a place in European competitions next season.
Meanwhile, former Watford player Troy Deeney has expressed his reservations about Kilman, praising the player's skills but underlining that the move to Manchester United is a big step in his career. Deeney commented:
“I like Max Kilman. I just think there is a level that not all people can reach. Maybe I'm wrong. Look what happened to Harry Maguire, a very good player at Leicester City. At Manchester United, where they try to play with a high defensive line, you have to be much better at controlling the ball. Playing for Wolves and playing for Manchester United are two different things... But if he (Kilman) makes it, then congratulations!”
Max Kilman joined Wolves from Maidenhead United in 2018, and has so far made 143 appearances for the club, including 4 Europa League appearances.
