After many news and rumors about his future, Cristiano Ronaldo has for the first time publicly reacted to the reports about his future. The Portuguese striker has declared that he will soon tell the truth about his fate at United, as he has considered many articles and news in the sports media as lies.
Despite the fact that the coach of the team, Erik ten Hag, has said that Ronaldo is not for sale, CR7 can leave the "Red Devils" before the end of this market. In a post on the Instagram social network, the veteran attacker stated:
"They will know the truth when they interview me in a few weeks. The media is telling lies. I have a notepad and in the last few months, out of 100's of writings that have been circulated about me, only 5 of them have been correct. That's the situation."
Despite Ronaldo's return to United, the legendary club failed to qualify for the Champions League, as it faces not only a crisis of results, but an identity crisis. Ronaldo's former team-mate at United, Gary Neville, gave his opinion on the Portuguese's statement. In a post on social media, Neville said:
"Why should the best player of all time (in my opinion) have to wait 2 weeks to tell Manchester United fans the truth? Come forward now and speak. The club is in crisis and needs leaders to lead it. He is the only one who can grasp the situation from the top."
After losing their opening 2 games of the season, United are bottom of the Premier League table for the first time since the 1992-93 season. Coach Ten Hag and the club leaders are still in an intensive recruitment process, to bring in players who will once again rebuild the image and prestige of Manchester United.
