Manchester United chiefs are considering a move in the January transfer window for talented Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee. The English are thinking about reinforcements in the attack department, as coach Ten Hag's men have had a hard time converting the chances created in front of the goal this season. That said, the need for a centre-forward is ever greater at Old Trafford.
Before the Joshua Zirkzee news, German media reported that United were also interested in Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy. The latter has scored a total of 17 goals this Bundesliga season. However, as United's attention has already shifted to Bologna's Dutch talent.
The main difficulty United are expected to face in their pursuit of Joshua Zirkzee is Bayern Munich's interest in the player. The attacker was initially part of the German team, but Bayern itself sold his card to the Italians. However, the Bavarians still have the buy-back option, as this detail was stipulated in the Dutchman's clause when he joined Bologna. Zirkzee's fee is currently valued at 30 million euros, and it would not be a surprise if Bayern decided to bring their former player back to the Allianz Arena.
The Dutchman has been in excellent form this season for his club in Serie A, where he has scored 17 goals. Newcastle United have also expressed their interest in the striker, but at the moment, Manchester United look closer to signing him.
Marcus Rashford has failed to replicate his fantastic form from last season, and United have struggled to find the back of the net in many games. However, Ten Hag's side got a very motivating win in the Premier League recently against Aston Villa, 3-2 at home.
