Dutchman Erik ten Hag has been officially confirmed as the new coach of Manchester United. The Ajax coach will take over the leadership of the team at the end of the season and this will undoubtedly be accompanied by approaches and departures from the "Red Devils".
But what are the most spicy names that could join United next season, and who are the ones that will leave?
In defense, the Ajax player, Noussair Mazraoui, can follow Ten Hag and join the technician at Old Trafford. Presnel Kimpembe of Paris Saint-Germain is also under the radar of Ten Hag, while another option is and Antonio Rudiger and Chelsea. The latter's contract expires at the end of the season and United can benefit from his card at zero cost.
In terms of midfield, United's main objective remains unchanged. It is about West Ham Declan Rice. The midfielder's card is estimated at 75 million euros from Transfer market, but West Ham demands more for its services. This can be a hurdle and that is why United need a backup plan. The alternative could be Wolves Ruben Neves.
In attack, the 2 main targets are Harry Kane and Christopher Nkunku. The latter has scored a full 30 goals in 19 meetings this season.
In terms of departures, Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, Jesse Lingard, Edinson Cavani, Juan Mata and Lee Grant could all all leave at zero cost at the end of the season, as their contract with the club expires in the summer. Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Eric Bailly, Phil Jones, Alex Telles, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford are also headed for departure. Donny van de Beek, meanwhile, could stay at United next season, having previously worked with coach Ten Hag.
