Manchester United are interested in the services of Chelsea's French midfielder, N'Golo Kanté. The latter's contract with the Londoners expires next year, and this has made United executives think about a possible offer. The "Red Devils" are desperate to strengthen their midfield, as this department was one of the most problematic in the season we left behind.
At the moment Chelsea is not yet ready to give up Kanté. The player remains one of the pillars of Tuchel's basic formation, and the German coach strongly believes in the midfielder's abilities. However, lately there have been some concerns about injuries this season, but this does not at all take away the merits of Kanté, who when he is at 100% remains undoubtedly one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.
Thomas Tuchel has never hidden his desire to continue working with Kanté on the team. But still, in a recent interview, the German openly expressed his frustration with the player's injuries. The Chelsea technician said:
"I think he (Kanté) is our key player. But a key player must be on the green. He plays only 40% of the matches. So maybe it's a miracle we closed the season in third place. "He is the player who makes the difference for us and if you have him available in only 40% of the games, that is a big problem."
Given Kanté's current contract, Chelsea have to make a decision. In contrast, the Londoners risk losing at zero cost next season, one of their best players. However, at the moment it is Jorginho the midfielder who is most likely to leave Stamford Bridge.
