The co-owner of the American football club Inter Miami, Jorge Mas, has indicated that the team will jump on the attack to take the services of Lionel Messi. Mas has hinted that David Beckham's good relationship with Paris Saint-Germain could be an important factor in finalizing the sensational move.
It was Beckham who founded the Inter Miami club in 2018, along with Jorge Mas and his son Jose Mas. The goal was to create a true football "dynasty" and make sports more massive in the United States. Fans were promised transfers of big names, including Blaise Matuidi and Gonzalo Higuain who have already joined Inter Miami. But signing Leo Messi remains Beckham's main target.
It has recently been reported that Messi could leave PSG in the upcoming summer transfer window. Although his move to Paris made a lot of noise, the Argentine still seems to have not found his best form. After 23 games in France, he has managed to score only 3 goals.
Asked about Messi's transfer to Inter Miami, Jorge Mas stated:
"Leo Messi is still one of the best players in the world, his skills have not disappeared. I think David has a relationship with him, and if he leaves PSG, we would like to see him as an Inter Miami player. Can it happen? We will push it forward. At heart I am optimistic. "I think there is a possibility."
Beckham himself has not ruled out the possibility of transferring Leo Messi to MLS, as he has said that Inter Miami's goal has always been to have in the team, the best players in the world.
