The agent of bomber Erling Haaland has made a surprising statement, which has raised doubts about the future of the Manchester City superstar. Agent Rafaela Piment said that Real Madrid is the dream destination for every player. The comment has once again sparked rumors of a potential transfer of the player to the Galaxy.
Haaland's agent said:
"It's the Premier League and it's also Real Madrid. They have something that makes them a dream destination for gamers. Madrid keeps the magic (of football) alive. They don't have competitive weekly matches, but they have the Champions League."
The Spanish giants have won the prestigious competition a total of 5 times since 2014, while Manchester City, Haaland's current club, have yet to make it despite their efforts in recent seasons. However, apart from the great desire to play with Real Madrid, Piment said that the Premier League remains the favorite championship of the players. She added:
"At the beginning of my career in this business, when I told the players they were going to play in England they said, 'what did I do wrong'. Meanwhile now, when I talk to the players and ask them what their target is, they tell me it's the Premier League. They don't mention City, Chelsea or Arsenal, they say the Premier League. It's the first time in 25 years that I've heard so many players say they want to move to a league, rather than a specific club."
Meanwhile, regarding Haaland, a departure of the attacker from Etihad is not expected to happen, at least in the near future. However, the situation could be complicated if City are convicted of financial fraud allegations brought by Premier League authorities. The penalty could hinder the "citizens" on their way to trophies, and it will undoubtedly leave a bitter taste in Erling Haaland.
