Manchester City and Liverpool are both interested in Bayern Munich's talented midfielder Joshua Kimmich. The German appears not to be ruling out a move to the Premier League as he is already approaching the final year of his current contract with the Bavarian giants. The interest of the Premier League giants in Kimmich is quite concrete and this has worried the leaders of Bayern who are already considering the options they have on the table.
According to sources in the English media, Manchester City is at a more advanced stage of negotiations than Liverpool. City chiefs are confident the German midfielder can fit in well with Rodri at the Etihad. Another factor that gives the "citizens" the most advantage in the race for Kimmich's card is Pep Guardiola. The Spanish technician has previously worked with Kimmich at Bayern and rates his skills as a player very highly.
Meanwhile, Barcelona is also another club linked to the German player for a long time. However, the Spaniards' difficult financial situation is a major disadvantage in the race for Kimmich's services. Bayern Munich, on the other hand, do not want to let the midfielder leave, but the Bavarians are in a difficult position. 2025 is the final year on the player's contract and unless a renewal deal is reached, the German will leave the Allianz Arena cost-free.
Liverpool, meanwhile, is not at an advanced stage in its interest in Kimmich. This is also due to the uncertainty about the position of the coach for the next season. "The Reds" have not yet determined Jurgen Klopp's replacement, and this decision will significantly affect the market plans for the team.
It remains to be seen whether Kimmich will leave Bayern Munich, or be convinced to renew again with the German giants.
