Arsenal's Brazilian striker, Gabriel Martinelli, has renewed his contract with the London club. The player will be part of Arsenal until 2027. He has scored 7 goals in 27 games with the "gunners" shirt this season, as he is one of the most important players in Mikel Arteta's team. Meanwhile, the club leaders are also in talks with Bukayo Saka and William Saliba to renew their contracts.
Gabriel expressed that he felt very happy about the new contract, and that he will give his best for the club and the fans, to make them proud.
Coach Arteta commented on Martinelli's renewal, as he appeared quite happy for the striker's trust in the club. The Spanish technician said:
"Gabi is still very young, so we know we can still expect a lot from him. Our fans see his quality and energy, every time he steps on the pitch in an Arsenal shirt, he is the same every day and in training, with his work and positive values."
Arteta added:
"We are now delighted to continue to develop his talent and to see him in an Arsenal shirt for years to come."
Arsenal sporting director Edu also welcomed the news of Gabriel's renewal:
"It is fantastic that Gabi has signed a new contract with us. The foundations of our squad continue to be built on new talent, so it's fantastic that Gabi has signed a new contract. He is still only 21, a player of great skill and personality. He is an important part of our future and we are delighted to have agreed a new contract."
Martinelli was part of the Brazilian national team in the World Cup in Qatar, and was activated in 2 appearances with the team. Unfortunately for him, the Brazilians did not go further than the quarter-finals in the prestigious competition.
