The English national team secured a victory within the predictions against the modest Andorra, with the result 3-0. This was the 5th consecutive victory in the group for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, and coach Gareth Southgate, reconfirmed once again the consistency and seriousness of his players, even in matches that seem to have been won on paper.
The number 1 of the "3 Lions" bench threw on the field a formation with 11 changes from that of the previous confrontation with Hungary. The reason is believed to be the next confrontation with Poland, which can be considered as England's strongest opponent in Group I.
For the English, Lingard (18 ′, 78 ′), Kane (72 ′) and Saka (85 ′) scored. The very good performance of Borussia Dortmund's talent, Jude Bellingham, also stood out. The player, who is a product of Birmingham City, recorded another very good match, receiving in some cases applause from the fans at Wembley.
Meanwhile, in a rather exciting showdown, Gareth Bale's Wales managed to get a victory in the last minutes against Belarus. The hero of the Welsh was exactly their captain and Real Madrid player, Bale.
The striker gave his national team the advantage, as he scored from the penalty spot. But, the home team equalized with the penalty 24 minutes later. Then, just 1 minute after the equalizer, the Belarusians scored the advantage goal, going to the locker rooms with the favorable result 2-1.
In the second half it was again the Welsh captain who converted another penalty into the goal in the 69th minute, restoring balance on the field. When it seemed that everything was towards the end, Gareth Bale managed to beat the opposing goalkeeper Sergei Chernik for the third time, with a low shot which gave Wales the victory in the 93rd minute. Bale's triple thus serves to keep alive the dream of qualifying for his representative.
