The English media have reported in the last few hours that Thomas Tuchel has agreed to take over the role of coach of the English national football team. The "3 lions" have been under the guidance of the interim coach, Lee Carsley, since the resignation of Gareth Southgate at the end of the last European. We recall that England were defeated in the final of the competition by Spain, marking another defeat in the objective of winning a major trophy.
Tuchel is signing the contract and his official presentation is expected to take place this week at Wembley. The English media have reported that Pep Guardiola was also considered by the English Football Association, but it seems that the Spanish technician is not yet ready to give up the management of Manchester City.
Lee Carsley is expected to lead England in the next two games in November, against Greece and the Republic of Ireland. After that, Tuchel will take over the leadership of the team. The German is quite familiar with English football, having managed Chelsea in the Premier League. Tuchel managed to win the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup before being sacked by the London club. His experiences with Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain make him an ideal candidate to lead England to a major trophy.
In the summer market we left behind, Tuchel was linked with the role of coach of Manchester United, but at the time the media reported that the German refused to take over the bench at Old Trafford. Although his last season at Bayern Munich can be considered a negative experience, the German technician remains one of the most vocal coaches in Europe. Tuchel managed to win the Ligue 2 championship twice with PSG, as well as the German Cup with Dortmund.
