As expected, Real Madrid has formalized the approach of Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund. The talent of the English national team will sign a 6-year contract with Real Madrid, and the latter will pay Dortmund a full 103 million euros for the player's card. In addition to the basic amount, the agreement also includes add-ons, which can bring the total transfer up to 134 million euros.
Bellingham, who started his career at Birmingham City, will be introduced to Real Madrid fans tomorrow. Meanwhile, the player expressed gratitude for his years at Dortmund, in a post on social networks:
"I thank everyone at Borussia Dortmund for everything they have done for me these 3 years. It has been an honor to wear your jersey so many times, in big and small moments. Although I am ready for my next destination, I will never forget the journey here…I wish you all the best for the future.”
Jude Bellingham will be part of the English national team in the qualifying matches for Euro 2024 against North Macedonia and Malta. However, the Englishman is not expected to be active in these matches due to a knee injury. Currently, the player is following the rehabilitation process in England, as he recovers from the injury that kept him out of Dortmund's last game in the championship for this season.
The German club's CEO, Hans-Joachim Watzke, also expressed his gratitude to Bellingham and his contribution to the team:
"We thank Jude for 3 years full of passion for Borussia Dortmund. It was a fantastic time together. We also want to thank Real Madrid for always being fair and constructive during the talks."
Bellingham is expected to start next season with Real Madrid, while the time for veterans Modric and Kroos is expected to be more limited.
