Journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Real Madrid executives are monitoring Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold. The player's future at Liverpool is still unclear, as the club is expected to be involved in a series of departures, now that coach Jurgen Klopp will leave at the end of the season.
The German technician will be replaced by the current coach of Feyenoord, Arne Slot. Meanwhile, following the news of Klopp's departure, Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk have also been rumored to leave the club in the summer. All the aforementioned players have an active contract with "The Reds" until 2025. This means that Real Madrid can take advantage of Trent Alexander-Arnold's card for a relatively low monetary value. Liverpool cannot risk losing the Englishman for nothing, and this will favor Real Madrid during negotiations.
Fabrizio Romano spoke about Arnold's situation and Real Madrid's negotiations:
"Trent Alexander-Arnold is one of Real Madrid's targets. They really like that player. Real Madrid will try to sign Trent in the summer if he does not decide to renew his contract with Liverpool."
Alexander-Arnold is considered one of the best players in his position, and according to some reports in Spain, the defender is keen to join up with fellow England international Jude Bellingham at Real. At the moment, there are no concrete communications between Real Madrid and Liverpool, as it is still early.
The management board of the Spanish club has several other very important decisions to make, among them is the future of Luka Modric. The legendary Real Madrid midfielder still looks in pretty good shape and his agent is expected to meet president Florentino Perez soon. The Spanish club has not yet made a decision on the Croatian's future.
