Real Madrid leads the list of giant European clubs that are monitoring the star of the English national team, Marc Guehi. Barcelona and Juventus are also chasing the Crystal Palace centre-back. Guehi is expected to leave Palace in the summer transfer window, but the club's management are claiming around £50million from his signing, and there appear to be several European clubs willing to pay that figure.
Guehi is a product of Chelsea's academy, and the defender has only 2 years left on his contract with Crystal Palace. Palace managers prefer to sell Guehi so as not to risk losing the player at zero cost. Real Madrid are looking for a centre-back, following the departure of Nacho to Al Qadsiah.
Premier League clubs meanwhile have also been chasing Guehi. Arsenal and Tottenham are long-time admirers of the player, while Manchester United are also following the player's progress. However, the "Red Devils" are more focused on finalizing the transfer of Matthijs De Ligt from Bayern Munich. If this move goes through, United's leaders are likely to give up their pursuit of Guehi.
Despite the much-criticized performances of the English national team at Euro 2024, Guehi can be considered the player who performed best among the "3 lions". The Englishman was excellent in the first 2 challenges against Serbia and Denmark, highlighting his defensive skills and accurate passing. Guehi was also the assist in Jude Bellingham's important goal against Slovakia.
However, the defender will not be activated in the important match that England will play against Switzerland, due to the punishment with the second yellow card in this competition, in the challenge against Slovakia. It remains to be seen how the "3 lions" will perform without the help of Guehi in the background.
