Manchester United chiefs are working to bring Adrien Rabiot, who is currently out of contract, to Old Trafford. The Frenchman ended his contract with Juventus this summer, deciding not to renew, and is looking for the next chapter in his career. According to English media, representatives of United have communicated with the player, as well as with his mother, who is also the Frenchman's agent.
At the moment, it seems that an agreement is very close, and the "Red Devils" lead the race for the card of Adrien Rabiot. Chelsea, Aston Villa, Newcastle, and other clubs have also expressed their interest in the midfielder. The player himself has long wanted to play in the Premier League, and United are expected to offer him a contract worth £8-9m a year, as well as a signing bonus.
The approach of the Frenchman will be quite important for coach Ten Hag, seeing the difficulties that the "Red Devils" encountered last season with injuries, as well as the poor performances of some key players. Casemiro, Amrabat and Scott McTominay failed to live up to the Dutch coach's expectations, and considering the level and intensity of the Premier League, Ten Hag needs as many options as possible, especially in midfield.
Among Rabiot's strong weapons is experience at the highest levels. The player has won several major titles with Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus, as well as the Nations League with the French national team. Also, United will not spend money on his card, as the player is currently a free agent.
However, the managers of Manchester United have other alternatives for the midfield, in case Rabiot's approach does not materialize. Youssouf Fofana is the main name on the club's list, but the latter is a more difficult target.
