The English media have reported that the leaders of Liverpool are looking at the possibility of approaching Jeremie Frimpong and Alphonso Davies at Anfield. The developments follow the latest news that Trent Alexander-Arnold is very close to signing for Real Madrid at the end of this season as a free agent. The Spaniards have long been confident that the England defender will join Los Blancos, and it appears that Liverpool are looking to secure the ideal replacement for such an important player.
In a way, the English club's leaders are looking to take revenge on Real Madrid for approaching Trent, following Frimpong and Davies, who are also on the list of targets for Real Madrid. As for Jeremie Frimpong, the Dutchman is seen as the perfect replacement for Trent and talks between Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen have started. Manchester City also see Frimpong as one of their top targets for next summer, but at the moment, Liverpool have the upper hand in the race for his card.
Meanwhile, in terms of interest in Davies, coach Arne Slot sees the Bayern Munich Canadian as the perfect long-term replacement for Andy Robertson. The German club are trying to convince Davies to sign a new contract, as the defender will be a free agent at the end of the season. But it seems that the player is quite intrigued by the idea of a new chapter at Anfield, or at Real Madrid.
The Spaniards are meanwhile exploring other left-back options as Davies remains a difficult target. Among other options is AC Milan's Theo Hernandez. The Frenchman has yet to agree to renew his contract with the Italians and it would not be a surprise if he said yes to Real Madrid in the summer.
