Kevin De Bruyne is expected to stay at Manchester City next season. The news was announced by the English media this weekend. The player's representatives have met with representatives of Arab clubs this week, but it appears that the Manchester City ace will not be moving to the Arab League, at least this summer.
The 32-year-old is thought not to be attracted by the fat contracts of the Arab league and for him the financial aspect is not important at this point in his career. However, Al Hilal have been following De Bruyne's situation for a long time now. The club's leaders are said to be big fans of the Belgian, and are trying to convince him to play in the Arab league.
But it seems that the midfielder has other plans. Sources close to the player suggest that Kevin feels he can still contribute to Manchester City, and play football at the highest level. At the end of his career with the "citizens", the player sees America as his next destination, and prefers to play in the MLS championship.
At the moment, San Diego FC is the American club that has communicated with the player's agents, to discuss a future transfer. However, when that moment comes, De Bruyne is expected to have offers from other MLS clubs.
Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola also commented on Arab clubs' interest in Kevin De Bruyne. The Spanish technician said:
"That's a question for him. I would really like him to stay, but I don't know. I hear a lot of news but I don't know if he got an offer, I don't know if Saudi Arabia wants him. I would very much like him to stay here, but everyone makes their own choice."
