Harry Maguire is considering a move to Saudi Arabia. The defender, who joined Manchester United for £80m from Leicester City in 2019, has a contract that expires in June. He has the right to negotiate with other clubs from January 1 and could earn a hefty salary if he decides to move to the Saudi Arabian Pro League.
Saudi clubs Al-Nassr and Al-Ettifaq are monitoring his situation. Manchester United have activated an option to extend Maguire's contract by a year, but are not expected to offer him new terms, given the team's future and the need for a defender who offers more security and consistency.
Maguire turns 33 in March and could be motivated to make a significant financial move, especially as his England career also looks set to come to an end. Even if Maguire does manage to secure a starting role at Manchester United, the competition at the Three Lions is fierce, and a place at next year's World Cup is far from guaranteed. He has said he feels uncertain about his situation and is awaiting talks with the club to discuss his future.
If he moves to Al-Nassr, he will be reunited with several former team-mates, including Cristiano Ronaldo. Maguire has made 64 appearances for England but now faces challenges in returning to selection for next summer's World Cup.
