Fulham have made an official offer for Scott McTominay's card. The club are said to have offered Manchester United £20m for the Scottish midfielder, the second bid after an initial offer. According to sources close to the club, the "Red Devils" are expected to reject this offer as well, but the future of Scott McTominay remains unclear.
On the pre-season tour of the United States, coach Ten Hag said he was happy to have Scott McTominay in his squad. However, when asked if the Scot will continue to be part of Manchester United, the Dutch technician could not give a concrete answer. We remember that Scott McTominay was rumored to leave the club, even last summer, as West Ham showed interest in him.
United needs to generate funds to strengthen the squad ahead of the new season. Leny Yoro, who joined the club this summer, was injured in the pre-season tour and will be out of action for around 3 months. Rasmus Hojlund was also injured but fortunately the striker's injury is not as serious as Yoro's.
Meanwhile, as for Scott McTominay, the player wants more minutes in the Premier League, but Ten Hag seems unable to guarantee the player a starting place in the team. Last season, the midfielder was active in 32 matches in the championship, where in 14 of these he entered the field as a substitute.
Given that United have so far failed to sell Casemiro, Mason Mount or Marcus Rashford, the need to secure funds is greater at Old Trafford. This could lead to the club's management accepting a bid for McTominay, although it may be lower than initial expectations.
