Ivan Toney can leave Brentford in the January transfer window, if the clubs interested in him are willing to pay 80 million pounds. This is the stratospheric amount Brentford's management have assessed for the services of the English striker. The player is still serving his ban for illegal betting, and will only be back on the pitch on January 17. However, interest in the bomber seems to be high.
Toney himself has made it clear that his desire is to play in an elite club, where he can win trophies. This is also the reason why the striker has decided to cooperate with super-agent Jonathan Barnett. But what is Toney's potential next destination?
Todd Boehly's Chelsea are poised to jump in despite spending more than £1billion since taking charge of the club. The Blues are still under-performing in the Championship, and the club's management could swoop for Toney if the problems in the attacking department continue.
Arsenal, on the other hand, are also looking for a striker, who will increase their chances of competing for the Premier League title. Mikel Arteta has Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketia at his disposal in attack, and both have performed well for the Londoners, but neither is a typical striker. Toney, on the other hand, scored a total of 20 goals last season, in a relatively weaker team than Arsenal. Only Erling Haaland and Harry Kane managed to score more than the Brentford tall man.
Manchester United has also been linked with the name of Ivan Toney, but at the moment the race for his card is expected to be played between the two main favourites, Arsenal and Chelsea.
