Manchester United striker Antony is asking the club to allow him to move to Real Betis. The Brazilian star spent the second half of last season on loan at the Spanish club and is ready to return there to play regularly before next year's World Cup.
Sources in the agent industry report that Manchester United are standing firm on their €40m demand for Antony, which is slowing down negotiations. Real Betis have made two offers for Antony, in the hope of reaching an agreement with the Red Devils, while Antony himself wants this transfer to be completed as soon as possible.
An anonymous source has given details about Betis' offers for Antony:
"United continue to demand around €40m, but Betis have put forward two different proposals. The first is a loan deal with the option to buy part of Antony's rights, a solution that would more easily fit within the club's salary cap. The second is an outright purchase of a percentage of the player for around €20m, which Betis are willing to complete immediately."
There is some optimism from Betis that the two clubs will be closer to an agreement in the coming days. Antony is not the only player expected to leave United this summer. The club are also open to letting the likes of Rasmus Hojlund, Alejandro Garnacho and Tyrell Malacia leave.
Garnacho is a target for Chelsea, while Hojlund has interest from Napoli and RB Leipzig. However, it seems Antony's departure is more likely to be dealt with first, although no deal has been reached so far.
