English media have recently reported that Paris Saint-Germain are monitoring Aston Villa star John Duran. The Colombian has attracted the attention of several teams, including PSG, West Ham and Chelsea. The leaders of Aston Villa are willing to give up the attacker for the figure of 60 million pounds. Duran has scored 11 goals so far this season in all competitions, including the crucial goals that gave Aston Villa the win.
If Duran joins Paris Saint-Germain, he will play in attack alongside the likes of Bradley Barcola, Ousmane Dembele and Lee Kang-In. The French are as usual in a good position in Ligue 1, as they lead the championship by 7 points from their closest followers Marseille. In all likelihood, if Duran joins PSG in January, he will be lifting the Ligue 1 trophy at the end of the season. However, a move in the winter market is unlikely to happen.
However, Aston Villa seems to be going on the offensive in the January market, to get ahead of a difficult situation. The managers of the English club are monitoring the striker of Borussia Dortmund, Donyell Malen. According to sources close to the club, Villa and Malen have managed to find an agreement on the personal terms of the contract. Now, the English have to find the financial agreement with Borussia Dortmund, to make the transfer possible. Villa leaders have offered £15 million in the past for Malen's services, but this offer has been rejected by the German club's management.
At the same time, Aston Villa is looking to strengthen the defense department. Coach Emery is looking for more options and the club is exploring the possibility of signing Oscar Mingueza from Celta Vigo. It remains to be seen what Villa's moves will be this market.
