Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City are all monitoring Mason Mount's situation at Chelsea. The talented midfielder has an active contract with the London Blues until the end of next season. However, according to the English media, very little progress has been made regarding a possible renewal of Mount at Stamford Bridge. This has caused rival clubs in England to remain attentive to the situation.
One of the main problems for stalling talks between the Englishman and the club is thought to be the fact that the player is reluctant to sign a long-term contract, similar to other contracts signed after Todd Boehly took over as Chelsea chairman. Also, Mount is asking for an increase in his weekly salary, which is currently thought to be around 80 pounds.
The midfielder is demanding a salary that reflects his status as an England international and Chelsea regular. Recently, Reece James signed a new 5-year contract with the London club, and the player will receive a whopping £250 a week, a huge difference to Mount's salary.
Meanwhile, City, Liverpool and United are ready to capitalize on Mount's potential frustrations as they look for a midfielder. The Englishman himself is thought to prefer a move within the Premier League, as he is familiar with the style of play and has more chances to lift a major trophy.
However, in addition to the English teams, the Spanish media have reported that Mount can be offered to Atletico Madrid, in an effort for Chelsea to finally buy the card of Joao Felix from the Spaniards. Juventus have also shown an interest in Mount, but the Italians are further down the list of preferences for the talented midfielder.
