According to the prestigious talkSPORT, midfielder Declan Rice will be Manchester United's main target in the summer transfer window, and West Ham have already determined the player's transfer fee. The club want a whopping £120 million for Rice, and despite the high figure, Premier League clubs are thought to be in the running for the Englishman's services.
Last summer, Manchester United offered 100 million pounds for Rice, but the offer was rejected by West Ham. Meanwhile, Chelsea and Arsenal are still in the race for the player, despite United being more inclined to make another bid.
Rice performed well in West Ham's last league game against Newcastle, which ended in a 1-1 draw. At the end of the meeting, coach David Moyes emphasized that Rice will cost more than Enzo Fernandez cost Chelsea this January market. Moyes said:
"Declan played fantastically in the first half, he showed a lot on the pitch. He will undoubtedly be a high caliber player and set a record with his transfer whenever he leaves West Ham."
However, club officials should be careful with their claims, as at the end of this season, Rice will enter the final year of his current contract. This means that unless an agreement is reached with United or another club in the summer, West Ham could lose the player for nothing, or for a much lower figure in January.
United are favored to strike a chord with Rice, and given that Chelsea have spent big over the last 2 transfer windows, another major transfer could have financial implications for the London Blues.
