Sources close to the English media have informed that the father of midfielder Jude Bellingham prefers the player to join Liverpool in England. Bellingham is currently active with Borussia Dortmund, and recently the player has been impressed by the interest expressed in him by Real Madrid and Manchester City.
Liverpool, on the other hand, has long been linked with the Englishman's name. Coach Klopp has once again publicly reiterated that he values the midfielder's skills very highly. The Reds are looking for midfield reinforcements this January transfer window, and Bellingham is clearly the No. 1 target on Jurgen Klopp's list.
Despite "The Reds" winning 2-1 against Leicester in the last match in the championship, the problems in the midfield were obvious. Thiago Alcantara, Harvey Elliott and Jordan Henderson couldn't create the right chemistry with each other and Fabinho's absence was noticeable on the pitch.
However, a deal between Liverpool and Bellingham looks unlikely to come to fruition this transfer window, considering Borussia Dortmund are claiming around £120m from the player.
This is where Manchester City and Real Madrid come into play, who seem to be more willing than Liverpool to pay such a figure this month as well. Dortmund meanwhile have failed to convince the player to sign a contract renewal. The midfielder's current deal with the German club expires in the summer of 2025. Many of Dortmund's leaders are convinced that Bellingham's transfer will set a new record for the club, financially speaking.
Meanwhile, as for the midfielder himself, it is still unclear what is the first choice in his mind, but according to Football Insider's sources, Bellingham's father is expected to have a big influence on the final choice the player will make.
