Joachim Löw will leave the post of coach of the German representative, after the end of Euro 2020. The news is official and has been made public by the German Football Association (DFB). The German coach will thus end his 15-year adventure, quite successful in leading the "panzers".
In fact Löw's contract expires in 2022, at the end of the World Cup. But the coach has demanded an early break for which an agreement has been reached between him and the federation. The number 1 of the German bench said to the media:
"I am taking this step with full awareness, with extraordinary pride and gratitude. But, at the same time I continue to remain quite motivated in terms of this year's European. I say it with pride because I was lucky and I was honored to work with our best footballers for almost 17 years in a row, and to support them in their development. "
Joachim Löw further stated:
"I have experienced great triumphs, but also bitter defeats, but above all magical and fantastic moments. And I'm not just talking about winning the 2014 World Cup. "
Now that the Löw chapter is very close to closing for Germany, all the attention is on its potential replacement. Among others, the name of Jürgen Klopp, the Liverpool coach is the most bent by the media. However, only a short time ago it was Klopp himself who ruled out the German national team bench as an option. Anyway the bench number 1 of Liverpool said "No" to a possible offer in the summer, but his opinion may change later, it is not known. Especially now that Liverpool seem to be in all likelihood at the end of a fairly successful cycle.
