Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee has recently attracted the attention of two Italian giants, Juventus and Napoli. The Dutchman joined Manchester United at the start of this season from Bologna for £36.5 million. However, Zirkzee has failed to make the impact expected of him at Old Trafford, so far. The negative experience in the Premier League culminated with his substitution in the 33rd minute, in the challenge against Newcastle.
However, Juventus and Napoli are still interested in Zirkzee, based on his fantastic performances with Bologna. Both Italian giants are trying to exploit the striker's delicate situation at Old Trafford to convince him to return to Serie A. However, the Dutchman still seems to want to fight for his starting place at Manchester United.
The coach of "Red Devils", Ruben Amorim, explained to the media the reason why he replaced Joshua Zirkzee in the first half in the challenge against Newcastle. The Portuguese technician said:
"Josh is a good player. We will continue to support it. It was a very difficult decision for me, but I spoke to Josh as it was important to get the message across to him. Josh had to leave the pitch to help the team... The team was suffering and we needed another midfielder."
But Joshua Zirkzee was clearly not United's only problem in the defeat to Newcastle. The Red Devils have collected just 22 points so far this season in the Premier League. United currently hold 14th place in the overall standings in the championship and the team is only 7 points away from the cold relegation zone. It remains to be seen if Ruben Amorim will manage to turn the situation in favor of the "Red Devils."
