Everton are close to agreeing a new four-year contract with England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford. The club want Pickford to continue playing for them and negotiations have progressed rapidly, with the experienced goalkeeper on the verge of reaching an agreement.
The 31-year-old could sign a four-year deal, extending his current deal by another two years. He earns around £6m a year, but that figure is set to rise significantly. Pickford is settled at Everton and has not expressed a desire to move to a bigger club, despite his status as one of the Premier League's best goalkeepers. He has played for Everton continuously since 2022 and has made 320 appearances in the top flight.
Jordan Pickford's consistent performances have also helped him retain the number 1 shirt for England, where he has represented the country in four major tournaments and amassed 76 caps.
Everton have also announced the signing of reserve goalkeeper Mark Travers from Bournemouth this summer. Travers, 26, has signed a four-year contract and is hoping to challenge Jordan Pickford for the starting spot. After signing for Everton, he said:
"Jordan is an exceptional goalkeeper for both club and country. I'm excited to compete with everyone here and be a Premier League player."
